GE Names Cassidy to Lead Water Chemical and Monitoring Solutions Business

TREVOSE, PA.—February 1, 2012—GE (NYSE: GE) today announced that Kevin Cassidy has been named chemical and monitoring solutions (CMS) general manager—water and process technologies for GE Power & Water.

GE is a leading global supplier of water treatment, wastewater treatment, water reuse and process systems solutions, along with water treatment chemicals and process chemicals. GE provides proven technologies and solutions for water recycling and treatment and continues to invest heavily to enhance current products and to develop new, even more advanced technologies.

Working within GE’s water business for the past nine years, he most recently served as general manager of the Asia Pacific region. Based in Singapore, he was responsible for 13 countries in the region.

“Kevin Cassidy’s varied and extensive experience within the water business, combined with his more than 20 years with GE, made him the ideal choice to lead our chemical and monitoring solutions business,” said Heiner Markhoff, president and CEO—water and process technologies for GE Power & Water. “His leadership skills and operational knowledge will serve him well in his new position.”

Cassidy held additional leadership positions in the water business including general manager of global energy sales and global Six Sigma quality leader. Prior to joining the water team, Cassidy was director of business development for GE Specialty Materials, a multi-business division of GE. In that role, he led GE’s acquisition and integration of BetzDearborn in April 2002, which paved the way for GE’s entry into the water treatment industry.

He began his career at GE in 1990 with GE Capital and has held multiple positions across the company, including assignments with the GE corporate audit staff and GE Investments, where he led private equity investing activity in Europe, Asia and Latin America. In 2000, Cassidy joined the mergers and acquisitions team at GE corporate, where he worked with GE’s plastics, healthcare and rail divisions on business development activities.
