GE Oil & Gas Centrifugal Pipeline Pump Joins GE ecomagination Portfolio
Higher Efficiency, Lower Costs and Reduced Carbon Footprint Underpins New DVS Pump
FLORENCE, ITALY—February 2, 2010—GE Oil & Gas, a world leading company in oil and gas advanced technology equipment and services, announces that its newly redesigned DVS Centrifugal Pump for liquid pipeline applications has joined GE’s ecomagination portfolio.
The newest GE DVS Centrifugal Pipeline Pump, most commonly coupled to an electric motor for pipeline pumping, is designed to offer 3-4% higher efficiency than prior GE technology for liquid pipeline applications, with a flow of up to 9,500 cubic meters per hour, reducing operator electricity costs and associated CO2 emissions from power generation.

Running at full capacity for a year the new DVS Centrifugal Pipeline Pump enables saving an amount of energy equivalent to the electricity consumed annually by over 200 U.S. homes, while pumping the volume equivalent of an Olympic swimming pool every 16 minutes.
To date, eight GE Oil & Gas products are included in GE’s ecomagination portfolio.
